MEDIA ADVISORY: Commonwealth University-Mansfield Band to Host G.O.A.T. Pie BINGO

MANSFIELD, Pa. (10/11/2023) — The Commonwealth University-Mansfield Marching Band will host a G.O.A.T. Pie BINGO fundraiser to assist with travel costs related to their upcoming trip to London, England, to perform in the 2024 London New Year's Day Parade Celebrations. The trip will take place from Dec. 28 through Jan. 4, 2024.

Tickets for this raffle will be sold through Friday, Oct. 13. The raffle event will take place on the Mansfield Marching Band practice field on Saturday, Oct. 14. The field is 70 yards wide and using the typical 22.5-inch marching step, the field will be divided into squares, which represent one step by one step areas called "grid boxes." A single grid box may be purchased for $10 each and represents one chance to win one of three cash prizes. There are a total of 9,408 grid boxes available for purchase in any amount.

Once a grid box is bought, it is removed from the raffle so only one patron can claim any particular grid box. Purchases are non-transferable and non-refundable once the transaction is completed. The purchasing patron's name and contact information are collected and automatically associated with the that grid box.

Three live goats will be on hand during the event, each with a number (1, 2 or 3). Goat No. 1 will be released on the south 15 yard line on the home side hash mark. Goat No. 2 will be released on the north 15 yard line on the visitor hash mark. Goat No. 3 will be released on the front sideline on the 50 yard line.

Goat No. 1 will represent the $2,000 first prize, goat No. 2 will represent the $1,000 prize and Goat No. 3 will represent the $500 prize. The goats will be allowed to roam the practice field and will be monitored. When a goat first leaves a "deposit" on the field, the location will be measured and the grid box associated with that location will be noted. Only the first "deposit" by any single goat will be counted as winning. Subsequent "deposits" will not count towards the winning cash prizes unless the first "deposit" was made on a grid that was left unpurchased. In this event, the next subsequent "deposit" marking a purchased grid will be counted. Patrons need not be present to win.

Should a "deposit" fall between two grids, said "deposit" will be weighed. The grid box that holds the majority of the "deposit" will be declared the winner. All results of the event will be considered final.

Winners of the raffle will be notified in writing via email. Prize money will be disbursed within 30 days of the event.
