CU-Mansfield celebrates new educators during teacher induction ceremony

MANSFIELD, Pa. (07/15/2025) — In May, Commonwealth University-Mansfield celebrated student teachers during the Induction to the Teaching Profession Ceremony held in North Dining Room in Manser Hall. After successfully completing their placements, the student teachers were honored during the program designed to celebrate the hard work, dedication and commitment of prospective teachers.

To begin the program, Dr. Jennifer Gurski, director, Office of Teacher Preparation, Clinical Practice and Certification, welcomed the students, campus community and guests in attendance. Dr. Ann Larson, dean of the College of Arts, Humanities, Education and Social Sciences offered opening remarks.

Keynote speakers were Patricia White, Warren L. Miller Elementary School, Southern Tioga School District and Carly Clark, Charlotte Lappla Elementary School, Wellsboro Area School District.

Students who participated in the ceremony were: Joshua Allen, Korina Bassett, Joshua Beers, Hayley Bogart, Jessica Brooks, Emalie Caccia, Ariana Carleton, Sarah Cassavaugh, Chad Coleman, Angelina Colon, Sarah Cronin, Danielle Drain, Jenna Hemighaus, Kylea Higgins, Morgan Joner, Ashley LaGrelius, Miah Lehman, Anna Lewis, Jessa Lohr, Kaylie Patterson, Jackson Pritchard, Caden Roys, Madelyn Rudy, Gabriella Stephens, Kaia Stets, Levi Storrs, Abigail Taylor, David Wootten and Victoria Wormuth.
