Commonwealth U-Mansfield radiologic technology achieves 100% first attempt pass rate for 4th year in a row
MANSFIELD, Pa. (12/10/2025) — Students in Commonwealth University-Mansfield's radiologic technology program achieved a 100% first attempt pass rate on the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) radiography certification exam for the fourth consecutive year.
Radiologic technologists play an essential role in healthcare, using medical imaging such as X-rays, CT scans and MRI scans to help diagnose and treat patients. They operate advanced imaging equipment, ensure patient safety and comfort and work closely with physicians to produce high-quality diagnostic images.
The Associate of Applied Science in Radiologic Technology at CU-Mansfield prepares students for careers as entry-level diagnostic radiographers. This two-year program is offered in collaboration with Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital, with the first semester on the Mansfield campus and the remaining coursework and clinical experiences at Guthrie in Sayre.
Students gain hands-on training using state-of-the-art, fully digital radiology equipment and participate in clinical rotations across diagnostic and specialty areas. The program's combination of classroom instruction and supervised clinical education equips graduates with the skills and experience to make a positive impact in patient care.
"The radiologic technology program faculty are very proud of our graduates' 100% first attempt pass rates on the ARRT certification exam over the last four years," said program director Mary Sullivan. "Program graduates consistently achieve higher pass rates than the ARRT national pass rates, which ranged from 83% to 85% within the same time period.
"This accomplishment demonstrates the dedication of both students and faculty to academic and clinical excellence," she added.
