Commonwealth University-Bloomsburg to host performance of Step Afrika!

Bloomsburg, PA (01/09/2026) — Commonwealth University-Bloomsburg will host a performance by Step Afrika! on Saturday, Feb. 21, at 7:30 p.m. in Haas Center for the Arts, Mitrani Hall. The performance is part of the Arts in Bloom series.

Founded in 1994 by C. Brian Williams, Step Afrika! is dedicated to the art of stepping. Step Afrika! blends percussive dance styles practiced by historically African American fraternities and sororities; traditional African dances; and an array of contemporary dance and art forms into a cohesive, compelling artistic experience. Performances are more than just dance shows; they incorporate songs, storytelling, humor, and audience participation. The blend of technique, agility, and pure energy makes each performance unique, leaving the audience with their hearts pounding.

Other headliners in the Arts in Bloom 2025-26 season include:

  • Mike Super, Magician, Friday, March 27, 7:30 p.m., Mitrani Hall
  • Aquila Theatre: The Hound of the Baskervilles, Friday, April 10, 7:30 p.m. Carver Hall, K.S. Gross Auditorium.
