PUSH Physical Theatre to Perform 'Hyde' for Journey Bank Arts in Bloom

Bloomsburg, PA (11/05/2026) — Commonwealth University-Bloomsburg will host PUSH Physical Theatre's performance of "Hyde" on Friday, Nov. 13, at 7:30 p.m. in Carver Hall, K.S. Gross Auditorium. The performance is part of the Journey Bank Arts in Bloom Series.

The physical theatre art of PUSH is a multi-disciplinary form of physical storytelling-using dance, partnering, athleticism, acrobatics, mime, and artistry-to express what it means to be human. The classic R.L. Stevenson tale, The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, also takes as its theme the question of what it means to be human.

The production tells the Jekyll and Hyde story with a twist. Meet Edward Hyde. He has rented a theatre, put on his fanciest suit, and hired a couple of actors to tell his side of the story. His lofty ambitions to be a superstar careen off the rails when his special guest is late and his actors go off script. The show contains mature themes and may not be suitable for children.

Other headliners in the Journey Bank Arts in Bloom 2026-2027 season include:

  • Sean Heely's Celtic Christmas: Friday, Dec. 4, at 7:30 p.m., Pettit Center for the Arts, Mitrani Hall.
  • The Flying Karamazov Brothers: Friday, Feb. 5, at 7:30 p.m., Pettit Center for the Arts, Mitrani Hall.
  • International Guitar Night: Friday, March 5, at 7:30 p.m., Carver Hall, K.S. Gross Auditorium.
