Media Advisory: Commonwealth University Student Teachers Prepare for the Classroom
PA (08/22/2025) — Commonwealth University will hold an all-day orientation for more than 70 students who will soon begin student teaching on Monday, Aug. 25, on all three campuses -Bloomsburg, Lock Haven, and Mansfield.
Locations at each campus are:
- Bloomsburg: Kehr Union
- Lock Haven: Durrwachter Alumni Conference Center
- Mansfield: Memorial Hall
The orientation at each campus will include both in-person and remote presentations from guest speakers representing host school districts. Guest speakers' remarks will be shared with all campuses. Speakers will give students guidance on how to conduct themselves in school buildings, build professional networks, and discuss the impact of social media.
Guest speakers will include:
- Andrew Rantz, Milton Area School District, Director of Secondary Education, CTE Coordinator, at Bloomsburg from 9:30 to 10 a.m.
- Brian Ulmer, Jersey Shore Area School District, Superintendent, at Lock Haven from 11 to 11:30 a.m.
- Andrew Freas, Southern Tioga School District Elementary Principal, and Nicole Cummings, Elementary Teacher, at Mansfield from 3 to 3:30 p.m.
