Media Advisory: Commonwealth University-Bloomsburg to Host 7th Annual Husky Dog Pound Competition

Bloomsburg, PA (03/19/2024) — Commonwealth University-Bloomsburg will host the Seventh Annual Husky Dog Pound Competition on Thursday, March 21.

The Shark Tank-inspired business pitch competition hosted by the Zeigler College of Business will have $20,000 in prizes. More than 600 students from approximately 60 middle and high schools will participate. The university-level competition will feature 11 teams made up of 17 students from all three Commonwealth University campuses (Bloomsburg, Lock Haven, and Mansfield).

The competition runs from 8 a.m. to 12:20 p.m. in Sutliff Hall on the Bloomsburg campus. Middle and high school awards will be presented from 1:30 to 2 p.m. in Carver Hall, K.S. Gross Auditorium. The university competition finals will be held from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. in Gross Auditorium. The university reception and awards ceremony will be held from 4:45 to 5:45 p.m. in Sutliff Hall, third floor.
