Media Advisory: Commonwealth University-Bloomsburg Students to Give Back to the Community April 5

Bloomsburg, PA (04/04/2025) — Approximately 800 Commonwealth University-Bloomsburg students will go into the Bloomsburg community on Saturday, April 5, to help residents with yard work for the annual Big Event.

Students will gather in the parking lot behind the library on campus at 8 a.m. before disbursing into the community to work on more than 160 jobs in the town. The jobs generally last until about noon.

Student volunteers will tackle chores such as raking, gardening, mulching, removing debris, digging, and various spring-cleaning duties. This single-day community service event, started at Bloomsburg in 2010, is held every spring semester by the Community Government Association.
