Indie Band Melt to Perform for Arts in Bloom Dec. 7

Bloomsburg, PA (11/25/2024) — Distinguished indie band Melt will perform for Commonwealth University-Bloomsburg's Arts in Bloom series on Saturday, Dec. 7, at 7:30 p.m. in Haas Center for the Arts, Mitrani Hall.

Formed in 2017, New York City-based band Melt has steadily built a fanbase with a captivating sound and electrifying live performances. Their first single "Sour Candy" went viral. After releasing the EP West Side Highway they toured nationally, further developing their intuitive connection as players and cementing their status as a band to watch.

Described by the Washington Post as a band whose every studio album "begs the listener to imagine its live rendition," Melt has gained a reputation for delivering unforgettable experiences onstage. NPR praises their seamless collaboration in which each member "expresses themselves like one groovy super organism" and the website Live for Live Music praises their "atmospheric vocals, symphonic horn section, and dominating rhythm section."

The band's debut album, If There's a Heaven, was recorded live to tape with producer Sam Evian. The eleven tracks span existential, feel-good pop ("Plant the Garden"), classic love ballads ("Your Name"), and lush, soulful rockers ("Heaven"). Melt's debut is a joyous, timeless soundtrack for coming of age and finding oneself.
