Department of Music Theatre and Dance to present 'Kiss Me, Kate' at Commonwealth University-Mansfield

MANSFIELD, PA (02/13/2024) — The Commonwealth University Department of Music Theatre and Dance will stage the musical "Kiss Me, Kate" Thursday, Feb. 22 through Saturday, Feb. 24, at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, Feb. 25, at 2:30 p.m. in the Straughn Auditorium at CU-Mansfield.

With romance, comedy, sophistication, and behind-the-scenes high jinks, "Kiss Me, Kate" combines the irreverent humor of four writers: Sam and Bella Spewack, Cole Porter and William Shakespeare. Musical numbers include "So In Love," "Wunderbar," "Tom, Dick or Harry," "Too Darn Hot," "Brush Up Your Shakespeare," "I Hate Men," "Always True to You (In My Fashion)" and "Another Op'nin, Another Show."

"Kiss Me, Kate" was the first recipient of the Tony Award for Best Musical and a five-time Tony Award winner in 1949 and 2000.

Tickets are $18 for adults, $12 for seniors and high school students, $8 for children and free for Mansfield students. Tickets will be available at the door or in advance at mansfield.booktix.net.
