Commonwealth University to Hold Spring Commencement Ceremonies
PA (05/08/2024) — Commonwealth University will hold commencement ceremonies this week for graduate and undergraduate students from its Bloomsburg, Clearfield, Lock Haven and Mansfield campuses.
CU-Bloomsburg
The CU-Bloomsburg graduate ceremony for all colleges will be held on Friday, May 10, at 6 p.m. in the Haas Center for the Arts. There will be two undergraduate ceremonies held on Saturday, May 11, at Redman Stadium. The first will be held at 9:30 p.m. for the colleges of Education and Human Studies, health Professions, and Science and Technology. The second will be held at 2 p.m. for the colleges of Arts, Social Sciences and Humanities; and the Zeigler College of Business.
Parking will be available near the Andruss Library for graduate ceremonies and on upper campus for undergraduate ceremonies. Handicap spaces will be available for guests and supports with a handicap placard or license plate. Gates will open 1 hour prior to each ceremony.
CU-Lock Haven and CU-Clearfield
CU-Lock Haven and CU-Clearfield students will graduate together on the Lock Haven campus. The graduate ceremony for all colleges will be held on Thursday, May 9, at 6 p.m. in the Thomas Fieldhouse. The undergraduate ceremony for all colleges will be held on Saturday, May 11, at 11 a.m. at Hubert Jack Stadium.
No parking will be available at Hubert Jack Stadium. Signage and Public Safety personnel will direct guests to empty lots. The university will provide disability accessible shuttle service to the stadium from the lower campus parking lots prior to the start of the ceremony and immediately following the ceremony. Disability parking will be available in Lot 16 and a handicap placard or license plate is necessary. Disability seating will be available on the field. One guest may accompany the person with the disability.
CU-Mansfield
The CU-Mansfield undergraduate ceremony for all colleges will be held on Saturday, May 11, at 4 p.m. at Karl Van Norman Field.
Parking will be available in in the lots around Karl Van Norman Field: Holden Place, K lot, L lot and N lot. Shuttle service will begin at 2:30 p.m. to assist transporting guests between parking lots and the field.
A clear bag policy will be in place for all Commonwealth University commencement ceremonies. The guidelines limit the size and type of bags that can be brought into the venues. Small clutches and wallets are permissible per the guidelines outlined below. Larger bags must be clear plastic, vinyl or PVC and cannot exceed 12 inches by 6 inches by 12 inches. Clear one-gallon plastic freezer bags (Ziploc bag or similar) are also permitted. Items not permitted in the venue include: large purses, strollers, car seats, coolers, briefcases, backpacks, wrapped gifts, diaper backs, computer bags, luggage of any kind, cinch sacks, fanny packs, camera bags, umbrellas and glass bottles.
All seating for guests will be on a first-come basis and will require a ticket. Children 2 years of age and under will not require a ticket, but need to sit on a lap. Wearable baby packs are allowed, but will be subject to inspection. Children 3 years of age and up require a ticket. Commonwealth University will be utilizing an electronic ticketing system for commencement ceremonies. Attendees must have registered for tickets prior to the ceremony. There will not be any tickets handed out or be able to be claimed the day of the ceremony.
