Commonwealth University-Mansfield continues tuition discount and scholarships for 6 counties in Southern Tier of New York
MANSFIELD, Pa. (11/04/2026) — The Mansfield campus of Commonwealth University will continue to provide a tuition discount and merit scholarships for eligible first-year and transfer undergraduate students living in six New York Southern Tier counties.
Students in Broome, Chemung, Schuyler, Steuben, Tioga and Tompkins counties in New York will save thousands of dollars off the standard, out-of-state tuition rate by paying a tuition cost near the Pennsylvania in-state rate. Southern Tier students are also eligible for up to $2,000 in yearly, renewable merit scholarship based on their academic achievement.
"Mansfield continues to be a popular destination for Southern Tier students seeking an affordable degree just a short drive across the state border," explained Justin White, Mansfield admissions director. "We're proud to provide these students with life-changing degrees and experiences at a cost as close as possible to the Pennsylvania tuition rate."
Mansfield offers 35 undergraduate majors, with students able to access various experiential learning opportunities including internships, research projects and global study experiences. Mansfield's most popular and unique programs include music, fisheries and aquatic biology, psychology, criminal justice, nutrition, nursing and social work.
