Commonwealth University-Bloomsburg to Stage 'Ride the Cyclone'
Bloomsburg, PA (10/28/2025) — The BU Players, one of the resident producers for Commonwealth University-Bloomsburg's Arts in Bloom, will stage the outlandish comedic musical Ride the Cyclone.
Showtimes are Thursday through Saturday, Nov. 6-8, at 7:30 p.m., and Sunday, Nov. 9, at 3 p.m. Advanced tickets are available at the Haas Center for the Arts on the Bloomsburg campus or at the door one hour before curtain. Performances will be at the Alvina Krause Theatre, 226 Center Street, in downtown Bloomsburg. Admission is free for current CU-Bloomsburg students, $12 for adults, and $8 for students and senior citizens. The approximate running time is 90 minutes, and there is no intermission. This musical is not intended for young audiences as it contains mature language and content.
"Ride the Cyclone is an incredible musical, full of twists and turns for artists and audiences alike," said professor David A. Miller, the production director. "The students and professionals involved in this show are bringing it to life with great humor and heart. We are excited for folks to join us for this ride that is both beautiful and strange."
The cast features students Hannah Konkolics, AJ Ferriola, Levy King, Andrew Meschke, Drew Rehrig, Bekah Rose, and Catie Stritzl. Frankie Webb is the student stage manager. The assistant stage managers are students Gia DeLuca and Maddy Hulslander. The scenic designer is guest professional Jen Varbalow. The student designers include costume design by Abbey Bowman, sound design by Thomas Halko, and lighting design by Theo Lemons. Hair and makeup design is by student Mickey Brathwaite. The band, Virgil & The Underworlds, includes Bloomsburg University alumnus Aaron Eldred as music director and conductor, and guest professionals Doug Delescavage, Joseph Dudeck, Jerome Manley, and Jamie Yates, as Virgil the Rat.
