Ensemble Mik Nawooj's Hip-Hop Orchestra Experience to Perform at CU-Bloomsburg
Bloomsburg, PA (02/25/2025) — Ensemble Mik Nawooj's Hip-Hop Orchestra Experience will perform at Commonwealth University-Bloomsburg on Saturday, March 1, at 7:30 p.m., in Haas Center, Mitrani Hall. The performance is part of the Arts in Bloom series.
The Hip-Hop Orchestra Experience is part concert, dance party, and club night featuring original music that samples from classical and hip-hop. The performance uniquely challenges the MCs and classical musicians - pushing the boundaries of both hip-hop and concert music, creating something new. The program includes seminal works of Mozart, Bach, and Beethoven, deconstructed and reimagined with funky rhythms and rapid-fire rhymes.
Led by composer/pianist JooWan Kim, the Hip-Hop Orchestra Experience is performed with resident MCs, a lyric soprano, woodwinds, French horns, strings, piano, and drums. This unique performance features musicians from Commonwealth University's music program and surrounding communities.
