CCAC and CU-Lock Haven to host award-winning jazz band Max Hatt / Edda Glass
LOCK HAVEN, PA (07/17/2024) — The Clinton County Arts Council and Commonwealth University-Lock Haven have partnered to bring the award-winning jazz Americana band Max Hatt / Edda Glass to campus this fall. The performance will be held on Sunday, Sept. 15, in the Durrwachter Alumni Conference Center. Doors open at 6 p.m., first set at 7 p.m., intermission at 7:40 p.m. and second set at 8 p.m.
Max Hatt / Edda Glass's original music has featured in numerous NPR and PBS specials, and on the road with stops including the Lincoln Center, Kennedy Center, the Sundance Film Festival and Wilco's Solid Sound Festival.
Along the way they have gained recognition and support from organizations such as Jazz Road, Doris Duke Foundation and the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation and the NPR Mountain Stage NewSong Contest (grand prize 2013) and they frequently work with producer Pat Sansone (Wilco).
New York Theatre Guide calls Glass's voice "one of a kind ... you cannot confuse her with another artist," while Hatt's guitar work has "an incomparable spook" according to Nashville Scene.
The event will also include heavy hors' d'oeuvres, a cash bar and a silent art auction - items will be announced closer to the event date.
