'Behind The Lines: A 9/11 Story' Opens Journey Bank Arts in Bloom Season
Bloomsburg, PA (08/11/2026) — The Journey Bank Arts in Bloom Performing Arts Series at Commonwealth University-Bloomsburg will open with a performance of "Behind the Lines: A 9/11 Story" on Friday, Sept. 18, at 7:30 p.m., in Carver Hall, K.S. Gross Auditorium.
"Behind The Lines: A 9/11 Story" is produced by Modern Warrior Live, a production team that works closely with veterans, including co-founder Jaymes Poling, to tell "personal stories of loss, endurance, and how people carry life-changing experiences forward." Co-founder Dominick Farinacci brings his internationally acclaimed trumpet experience to bring these stories to life.
"Behind the Lines: A 9/11 Story" highlights the lived experience of Bill Spade, a FDNY World Trade Center firefighter who responded during the tragic attacks on September 11, 2001. Of twelve members of his company, he was the only survivor. He has devoted his life to education and remembrance of the tragedy, having personally given 200 tours of the World Trade Center site.
Modern Warrior Live has received a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts and has been sponsored by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, NPR, and the Mid-America Arts Alliance. Their work has also been acclaimed by national leaders such as former Secretary of Veterans Affairs Anthony Principi, who explained that it "heals the mental scars of war."
